FULHAM FIGHTBACK TO BEAT BORO
This was the first meeting between both sides since April 2022. The away side started the better settling into the game really well creating some good openings with through balls to Tommy Conway which didn’t quite come off for him. Boro kept their composure moving the ball down the wings to Sammy Silvera & Morgan Whittaker. At the back new signing Adilson Malanda looked very comfortable with the ball bringing a calmness to how Boro played. On the 30th minute after some brilliant work by Sammy Silvera his pass found Hayden Hackney who slotted the ball away to make it 1-0 to the visitors to set up a potential upset in the FA Cup. however Fulham did start to create chances towards end of the first half with creative talented wingers Kevin & Adams Traore. In the second half Fulham kept pressing to get back in the game however Boro had two great chances to increase the lead, Whittaker hits stunning ball which went wide of the post and then Tommy Conway’s chance rattled the crossbar in which was his last effort of the game. Fulham made 3 substitutions bringing on Harry Wilson, Raul Jimenez & Tom Cairney who proved to be too much for Boro with their quality. The space Harry Wilson had was taken very well to level proceedings, Emile Smith-Rowe increased the lead for the cottagers before Kevin finished the game off in added time sending the Premier League side through to the 4th Round of the Emirates FA Cup.
